Drilling Diamonds Tower Hamlets (2020)

Developed in partnership with Spotlight Youth Services in Tower Hamlets, Concrete Hearts is the creative outcome of workshops and development by the Drilling Diamonds team.

With an original screenplay and featuring original songs throughout, 'Concrete Hearts' was devised throughout the Covid-19 lockdown period of Spring 2020, engaging and telling the story of young people in Tower Hamlets, London. The film was streamed live from Spotlight Youth Centre in August 2020, and featured live performances and discussions from the young people themselves. With thanks to our funders: The Young Londoners' Fund; The Wakefield and Tetley Trust; and Arts Council England.

We were delighted to be nominated for a Children & Young People Now Award for Culture in 2020.
