Traps of the Mind at Maudsley Hospital (2014)

In 2014, we completed a 6 week residency at the Maudsley Hospital (SLAM) culminating in a performance on the ward and a public performance at the Maudsley Learning Centre (ORTUS).

Psychotic patients seem able to focus on “normal emotions” and are capable of existential preoccupations when not being interrogated by professionals about their psychotic symptoms. Art and culture are perfect vehicles for achieving states of normality even while patients may be psychotically ill and hearing things.
